Joys produce corporate client conferences, seminars, breakfast meetings and dinners. We look after all technical aspects of the event including audio, lighting, video filming & projection, set building, stage management, graphics & video playback, webstreaming, remote contributors via Zoom, Teams, Skype etc - Everything that makes us one of the leaders in delivering high quality events.
We are behind over 200 annual events that take place in Guernsey alone and are keen to recruit to our team another full time live event technician.
You must hold a current driving licence, be reliable and knowledgeable in aspects of audio visual. The Event Technician is a client-facing position responsible for setting up and operating a variety of high-end audio-visual equipment for live/virtual/hybrid client meetings hosted at various hotels, marquees and other venues. It would be desirable for you to have an understanding of one or more of the following disciplines: audio, lighting, video, projection, computer networking, PowerPoint & Apple Keynote. Full training in areas you are not familiar with will be given.
The job is varied and will include preparing equipment pre-show, loading & unloading equipment, setting up and confirming correct working of equipment, operating certain equipment, de-rigging and post event checking of inventory.
Due to the nature of our business,hours will vary, with some evening and weekend work required.
We offer 4 weeks paid holiday, overtime and a salary commensurate with experience & skills.

JUNIOR TECHNICIANS
At Joys we are always looking for talented individuals who have an interest in theatre and live event production. Possibly you have had an introduction to this through your school - maybe looking after the audio and lighting for school plays and similar productions. Maybe you have finished University with a degree in a related subject and are looking for a first placement.
